The oversized denim jacket

I had so much fun styling this hottie a few months ago! When she showed me her denim jacket I was immediately drawn to it. The tears strategically placed on the jacket bring the piece to another level! Because oversized items are in trend right now, I decided to style the jacket with a simple, black, body conscious dress so that the jacket is the statement piece of the outfit. We decided to stay on the simple side with the jewelry and added a thin leather belt to make sure Liz's waist was defined. If you have any type of oversized jacket in your closet, you can easily pair it with your basics.

the little grey dress

I promise my upcoming posts will be about what to wear during Spring/Summer! But, I couldn't pass up featuring this amazing grey Herringbone Sheath dress.

I found this beauty at Banana Republic in the Petite section. FYI, the petite section in that store is one of my favourites! The selection and the price are always great! It ranges from professional work attire to cute weekend outfits. For people that are vertically challenged like me, it's always important to find clothes that fit like a glove.

OK! Back to the grey dress. I know some of you took one look and thought you couldn't pull it off because it's a form fitting dress. I beg to differ! The slit up the front will elongate your legs and the defined waist will actually make you look slimmer. If you are self conscious about your mid section, don't shy away from spanks. Yep, I went there!

The transition in seasons provides you with an opportunity to match dark and bright colors. Even if you are wearing a dress like this to the office, have fun with it! I paired it with my favourite fuchsia Audrey Brooke heals from DSW and the matching NYX lipstick.

Finally, If you're an hourglass, pear, or banana shape this is a great dress for you! If you are apple shaped, I would suggest highlighting your shoulders and/or legs with a shift dress. (I will do more blogs on different body types in the future.)

The not so basic white shirt

For someone like me who barely clears 5", its always a priority to make sure whatever I wear doesn't make me look even shorter! The length of this white asymmetrical hem shirt could make me look shorter but the addition of heals adds the length needed to make the look work.

Can we just talk about how much I LOVE this white shirt?!?! It allows me to be clean and elegant while satisfying my need to be creative. I paired it with some distressed Forever21 skinny jeans (that I cut myself), cute floral heals my husband picked out(Hey Boo!), and a choker made by my Mom.
